5-Day Forecast: 4/27-4/31/2024: What’s the weather for this week?!

Good Morning Cardinals & Happy Friday!

This past week we’ve had chillier temperatures than normal, but when we look into next week there’s going to be a lot of twists and turns with weather events. Twists and turns, sort of like a pretzel on this National Pretzel Day (According to the National Calendar)

For today (4/26/24) we’re looking at a mostly sunny day with increasing clouds and chances of showers after 6pm. A tad bit windy with wind ranges blowing south/southeast 10-13 mph and gusts which can get as high as 21 mph. Temperatures increase today into this weekend and even into next week because we’re recovering from a cold front which we experienced for a lot of this past week. Note that a lot of this weather we could potentially be experiencing this weekend/week is all blowing from the central southwest of the United States into our system which could bring about the ingredients for storms & rainfall.

As we head into the weekend starting with Saturday we see a major increase in temperature, jumping 10 degrees from today. Showers & thunderstorms (30%) possible before 2pm, but a majority of the day will be mostly sunny. A bit breezy with winds blowing south with 17-21 mph and gusts reaching as high as 30 mph. For Saturday night, clouds increase but the temperature still stays pretty consistent only dropping to the mid 60’s.  Sunday is going to be a beautiful day this weekend. Temperatures reaching the low 80’s, still a tad bit breezy still with winds blowing south/southwest 18-22mph and gusts as high as 26 mph. Winds could potentially be a good thing because during a warm day, a breeze never hurt anyone. Sunday evening temperature lows will be similar to Saturday evening with a low of 65 degrees.

Looking into next week, Monday showers & thunderstorms (60%) likely after 2pm. Partly sunny for the rest of the day with temperatures in the high 70’s. Still a bit breezy with south/south wind blowing 18-22 mph and gusts as high as 32 mph. Looking at Monday evening (80%) chance of showers, potential thunderstorms along with that. Wind speeds slowing down a bit still blowing south/southwest at 16-28 mph with gusts as high as 29 mph.  Headed into Tuesday potential showers & thunderstorms (40%) before 2pm. Partly sunny with a high temperature in the mid 70’s. winds calming down a bit 11-14 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph. For the evening, we see a major temperature drop with partly cloudy skies. Winds calming down even more 11-14 mph and gusts as high as 18 mph. Wednesday’s weather looking beautiful, mostly sunny with temperatures in the high 70’s, potential low 80’s, small chance of rain for the day (30%). For Wednesday evening clouds roll in with a temperature drop to high 50’s. This week may be little breezy and a little wet, but temperature increases are nothing to complain about. Enjoy your weekend and have an even better week. Good luck on finals too!
