Happy Wednesday!

Storm sky, rainy clouds over horizon.

Much of the western portion of the country is experiencing calm conditions. Many states are under the influence of high pressure systems keeping active weather at bay. Moisture is low as well with several dry lines in the area.

On the other hand, the eastern half of the country is expected to experience rain and storms later this afternoon and into tonight. There is a possibility for severe storms in LA, MS, and AL. Heavy rain and flash flooding is possible for surrounding states. A cold front, passing through several states, is not strong enough to push the rain and storms out of the area. A warm front is present, allowing for the moisture to remain in the area.

Locally, there is a chance of showers beginning after 3pm and lasting the remainder of the day and evening. Currently, temperatures are mild and skies are cloudy in preparation for the rain showers. Winds are coming from the East at 6-10 MPH. There could potentially be some isolated during the overnight hours.

That is all for now! Have a good afternoon!
