Afternoon Forecast/Discussion 3/29/2024: March Madness as a Spring Rebound Makes it a Good Friday

Good Afternoon, Cardinal Country! A warm frontal boundary has said “hello” and will make this a Good Friday for even more than just the meaningful nature of the day to those who observe it! Because of this, we will rebound (March Madness pun intended) into a more seasonable-feeling afternoon! Winds are easterly currently, but they are expected to develop more of a southerly flavor as the frontal boundary creeps northward. There is not a lot of moisture or lift to work with, so the only fanfare it comes in with is some lovely sunny skies and temperatures 5° warmer than yesterday. Lower to mid-60s should be prevalent across the area with our current setup, with the clear skies persisting through the later afternoon when a few stray clouds roll through along our boundary into the evening. These will be thickened as we make our way through the evening and overnight out ahead of the first system that will zip along this boundary & will be the focus for some showers and thunderstorms into your Saturday as something to be aware of. We have a lot of rain coming our way, so as we end the month of March, what do we say about some early, copious April showers to bring the May flowers?
