Afternoon Discussion – 03/13/2024

WPC National Forecast Chart – Valid Mar 13, 2024

Afternoon Cardinals! Taking a national look for today, we have a winter storm developing out west for states such as CO, UT, ID, WY, and MT. Winter Weather Watches, Warnings, and Advisories have been sent out by NWS in each respective states/areas. There is also a Fire Weather forecasted for the southern Plains with a Red Flag Warning that has already been sent out. The cold front that is moving towards the plains may help ease the high temperatures and increase the relative humidity affected by the wildfires by the next day, Thursday.

As of now, the regional Midwest is experiencing sunshine or partly cloudy conditions from the high pressure that was in the area as of latest. But as we head towards the next day, things may start to get cloudy with rain as the low pressure system in the central US moves East.

In Muncie, as mentioned before, the high pressure in the Midwest brings clear and sunny conditions that could now possibly raise temperatures the highest in all week of ~70°F before the evening. This is also helped with winds coming from the SW at 7-9 mph. The relative humidity for Muncie is also between 50-60% so that helps with the cool feeling of not being too humid or too dry out.

Enjoy the afternoon Cardinals!
