Forecast Discussion & 5-Day

Good Morning!

Quiet conditions are expected during the day as a high-pressure center rests over southern Missouri. Moisture still remains in the atmosphere; this is seen by the presence of stratus clouds. Temperatures are expected to peak near 52°F; however, with some additional clearing, temps could reach the upper 50s by afternoon.

Cloud cover will increase going into the evening and the overnight hours in preparation for tomorrow’s showers.  A cold front stretching from Central Ontario to southern Kansas will bring with it showers on Friday, beginning in the early afternoon. We could even begin to see some isolated showers late tonight.

Mostly cloudy conditions are expected throughout today. Chances for showers return late tonight and increase in the overnight hours. Friday and Saturday are when we will have wetter conditions with rain chances at 80-90%. Winds will pick up on Saturday. As temperatures could drop below freezing Saturday evening, there is a chance of seeing mixed precipitation in the overnight hours. As the system moves out by Saturday night, a cold front will pass, dropping temperatures for Sunday to the low to mid 40s. Sunshine and warmer weather return by the beginning of next week!

Have a great day!
