Forecast Discussion & 5-Day

Good Morning!

Much, if not all, of that state experienced showers and storms yesterday evening. A cold front followed the system, and we are now beginning our day with some patching fog and expecting cooler temperatures and cloudy conditions today.

Slight cold air advection is expected, keeping temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s. The day will start with some fog and overcast but slight some clearing will take place by afternoon. Winds will begin to pick up for much of the state at 10-15 mph coming from the Northeast. Gusts will range from 18-20 mph. The winds in the morning and early afternoon will make temperatures feel cooler. We are not expecting any precipitation today, being that a dryline is sitting through the state.

By evening, moisture in the atmosphere, or humidity, will decrease, allowing for some clearing. It will still be challenging to see those stars tonight. If you have any evening plans, it would be best to have a light jacket, for those Northeastern winds will still be breezy.

Taking a look at our 5-Day Forecast, quiet conditions are expected today and through Thursday. By Thursday evening, the chance of showers returns and increases heading towards the end of the work week. Winds pick up significantly by Friday night. We’re expecting strong winds, ranging from 18-20 mph from the East with gusts as high as 30 mph for the weekend. Temperatures will fluctuate as winds pick up and the chance for rain increases. Rain chances will decrease by Sunday morning, allowing for clearing to set in. Blusterous conditions will remain.

Have a great Wednesday!
