Unseasonal Temperatures in Coming Days/Possible Severe Weather Next Week?

Good afternoon, Cardinal Country! We hope you are enjoy the unseasonably warm temperatures as we are as well! Temperatures today will reach the low 60’s which is almost 20 degrees above average. Around this time in February, Muncie typically sees the high temperature around 39 degrees.

The good news for those that like the cold winter weather is that Saturday, we’ll see more seasonable temperatures, with a high of 34 degrees. However, after Saturday, temperatures will return above normal with Sunday’s high of 54 degrees. Looking ahead to next week, the 60’s will return by Monday and by Tuesday, we may approach the lower 70’s. Early next week is also a week where we will have to keep an eye on the potential for thunderstorms, some could be on the stronger side. One sign of the potential severe weather for next Tuesday into Wednesday is unseasonably warm temperatures around mid 60’s to low 70’s. However, it is a week out and there are still a lot of uncertainties regarding the specific threats, timing, and locations wise, but it is worth watching the model trends in regards to the severe weather potential and temperature warm up.
