5-Day Forecast, 2/16-2/20/2024: What Did That Groundhog Say Again?

This forecast might have you thinking about hot chocolate again!

Good Midday, Cardinal Country! We have an interesting forecast that has something for nearly everyone! We are looking for a wintry end to the week starting with a system that looks to provide the area with some snowfall tomorrow afternoon and evening. At this point, data on this system appears to agree with around an inch or more of snow accumulation, but we do have the caveat that surface temperatures are warm due to our recent weather, and this system may run into some warmer air above ground. However, if it snows hard enough, accumulations may be somewhat higher & may occur on roadways, slickening them up as you’ll have cooling/condensation happen as the lower level of the atmosphere saturates. Stay tuned here as well as social media for updates to our forecast thinking!

Other than this, we are looking at temperatures dropping below average going into Saturday with that 27° feeling colder with winds gusting to 25 mph at times. Look at those overnight lows Friday & Saturday night, too – Feeling more like January with lower teens and 20s!! From overnight Sunday into Monday, there’s a slight chance frost may again visit windshields as winds lighten up under clearer skies and cooler conditions, so leave extra time for your morning commute & stay up-to-date on the forecast! However, take a look at those high temperatures as we go from Monday into Tuesday – We see above-average weather once again with temperatures into the 50s!! That is the time another quick system brings some widely scattered showers into the area. Shedding the coats & replacing them with a lighter jacket does sound good given this weekend’s weather picture right about now – do you agree? Have a great rest of your day, and stay safe & awesome!!
