More seasonable conditions will be present today; however, temperatures are still slightly above normal for mid-February. Temperatures are currently below freezing at 29°F, with a light NE wind at 6mph. We are expecting to warm decently to the high 30s by this afternoon, with winds picking up a little. Clear skies and sunshine will aid in the warm up going into the afternoon.
Active weather is present in the southern states, with increased risks for severe thunderstorms and flash flooding. The threat for severe weather will decrease by this afternoon.
Locally, there is a chance for precipitation later this afternoon and evening for areas south of I-70. This system has the potential to bring mixed precipitation. Impressive precipitation totals are not expected, and the system should move out by early tomorrow morning.
Enjoy the rest of your morning! Stay tuned for the afternoon forecast!
