Good Midday & Happy Friday, Cardinal Country!! Are you feeling it? It would probably be crazy to think that absolutely no one would be feeling “Spring fever” today given that temperatures out the door right now are close to 60° even under the clouds! That’s thanks to some very tropical-feeling SSW winds, but the cloud deck influencing our weather should clear due to some more stable/sinking air working into the region as we march (or should we say April, because of where these temps this afternoon come from) our way into the afternoon!
With that said, we are looking at temperatures warming to the lower & the mid-60s as the sky conditions (based on upper-level data & satellite trends) clear and those SSW winds continue. It will be breezy with hold-onto-your-hat style conditions through the afternoon, so make sure you drive safely if you have a larger/high-profile vehicle, and secure those loose outdoor objects. Other than that, a great day to break out the short-sleeve shirts & perhaps even break out the shorts!
We do cloud up again through the evening and overnight period & we see a shot at some showers & even a rumble of thunder later tonight. For the most part, things should stay widely scattered, but some of the showers and storms might have a brief heavy downpour. That’s more likely as we make our way into the early morning hours on Saturday at this time, but we will keep an eye on that. Other than that, today is a tasty day, perhaps as tasty as a pizza pie? Happy National Pizza Day, and here’s to a great weekend!
