Afternoon Forecast/Discussion 1-29-2024

We’re starting off the week a bit more chilly, but at least we are not seeing any rain like the past few days. Over the past seven days, central Indiana saw plenty of rain, with Muncie recording 1.73″ of precipitation in that stretch. For those tired of the rain, today will have a break from any rain/mist before more chances for precipitation in the form of rain/snow moves in tomorrow.

For this afternoon, temperatures rise above freezing to the mid-to-upper 30s, with a high of 37. Light winds will be around today, blowing from the west at about 5-10 mph, shifting to the SW by 3 PM. Cloudy skies stick around all afternoon. Rumor has it that beyond these clouds, there is this thing called the “Sun”, but I’ve not been able to confirm that superstition. It could make its appearance by mid-week, so we’ll have to keep a lookout then.
