Afternoon Forecast 1/25/24

Good Morning, Cardinals!

A dense fog advisory is still in effect for the Central Plains and Midwest regions. The fog limits visibility to one-quarter of a mile or less. In the southern part of the country, many Coastal Plain states are being impacted by heavy rain and storms. All the rain received in the past few days has resulted in a continuous Flood Watch for much of the south.

Tropical-like air from the Gulf is responsible for the warm and moist conditions we have been experiencing this week. The fog and low clouds are producing precipitation in the form of mist and drizzle across central Indiana. The next chance of rain is expected this evening but could be extended to later tonight, depending on how quickly the fog moves out. The stronger winds tonight will aid in dispersing the fog.

Friday is looking to be clear from rain due to a surface High pressure moving into the area. However, the chance for rain returns on Saturday, keeping temperatures above normal for this time of year. As the system moves out, temperatures will return to normal on Sunday, with highs near the low 40s. Slight precipitation chances are possible next week, but we could see temperatures returning to the low 50s.
