Afternoon Forecast 1/24/24

Good Afternoon, Cardinals!

The polar temperatures have moved out of many areas, and we have warmed up nicely since last week. These more mild conditions are bringing precipitation, in the form of rain, to many parts of the country. In the Midwest region, the moisture is causing many states to experience dense fog. Southern states are under a Flood watch due to the heavy precipitation.

For much of the state, rain will be scattered on and off throughout the day. There could possibly be ponding on the roads and highways due to melting snow. Winds are coming out of the Southeast, bringing in that warm moist air, aiding to the precipitation.

Cloudy and rainy conditions will remain with us until the end of week. Temperatures will be mild and could reach the low 50s. Once the rain moves out by Friday, temperatures will drop, and a second round of precipitation will return this weekend. Snow chances are also expected Saturday night going into Sunday morning, as temperatures dip to the mid 30s.

For right now, keep that umbrella handy and stay dry!
