Freezing rain Monday then a rainy work week

A sad snowman ponders his melting future as warm temperatures and rain develop

Last week was a winter weather week filled with snow and bitter cold temperatures. This week will take a bit of a different, but still gross, route.

Our attention turns to Monday night when our next system arrives. We stay dry during the day but once the system arrives in the evening, things look to be dicey. We could see a mix of winter precipitation at first, but then freezing rain looks to be the main culprit as we head into the early morning hours on Tuesday. With temperatures hovering right around the freezing mark, any rain that falls will turn to ice on impact. This is shaping up to be a potentially dangerous event with the potential for a decent ice accumulation.

This system includes a warm air mass which will give us a much needed warm up throughout the week. Conditions stay rainy, but temperatures will jump into the 40s to 50s!

The system will finally clear out of the area late Thursday night.

Be sure to stay tuned with us for all things weather!
