Morning Forecast/Discussion, 1/20/2024: Layer Up Out There!

Squidward from Spongebob SquarePants bobs up and down shivering in a cube of ice in an Arctic-like setting

Good Morning, Cardinal Country! If you have plans outdoors today, plenty of layers, including a hat, gloves & even scarves, should be handy today! While our Wind Chill Advisory expires at 10 am, feels-like temperatures around -5 to -15 degrees are still expected, with the coldest in the morning. Some clouds associated with the lake-effect moisture from Lake Michigan should decrease in coverage from west to east, allowing for some clearing conditions as we make our way to the afternoon when temps rise into the lower to mid-teens. This clearing is thanks to an Arctic high-pressure system that will – thanks to this clearing, along with winds tapering off overnight and our snowpack – allow for the actual temperatures to cool to about 5 below zero by tomorrow morning. Stay warm, stay awesome & be safe, Cardinals!
