Falling Snow and Temperatures

Good morning Cardinals!

The current condition in Muncie is a cold, 22 F with wind speeds of 12 mph coming from the northwest, producing a wind chill of 10 F. Overnight a total of 0.5 inches of snow fell, and will likely continue before 10 am, when the Winter Weather Advisory expires. Due to the snow, road conditions have deteriorated and are slippery in some areas. Before noon, this snow will lighten, and the already fallen snow will be blown by the wind, potentially causing issues with visibility.

Throughout the day, temperatures will fall from the current high of 22 F to around the mid-teens this afternoon. Later tonight, a Wind Chill Advisory will go into effect at 7 pm EST and is valid until 10 am EST on Saturday, January 20. Wind chill values will drop as low as -15 F, with speeds around 11-14 mph with gusts up to 23 mph. More snow is possible before midnight. If you are traveling, make sure you allow extra time to brush snow off cars, as well as for travel due to slippery road conditions.

Stay warm!
