Wednesday’s Evening Forecast

Continue to bundle up, Cardinal Country! We may have reached high of 21 degrees, but it still feels like it is near 0 degrees with a breezy, southwesterly wind between 20 and 25 mph. Clouds are continuing to increase as we will see another chance of snow to end the school week. Tonight, there is a slight chance of snow, around 20% chance of snow after 4am. The temperature will not go down drastically tonight, due to the increasing cloud cover, with low around 18 degrees. Wind will come out from the southwest between 10-15 mph, which will make the feels like temperature near or below 0 degrees. With that in mind, if you do need to be outside for an extended period of time, be mindful that it will take about 30 minutes for a frostbite to occur if you don’t dress in layers. Frostbite is the freezing of skin and body tissues beneath for a given period of time. Hypothermia is also a concern in cold winter weather and is a common winter weather killer when body temperature is dangerously below 98 degrees. Make sure to stay up to date with the weather conditions with Cardinal Weather Service social media platforms and your local National Weather Service office website.
