Afternoon Forecast 1/17/2024 – Partly sunny and breezy

Good afternoon, Cardinals!

Now that we have in the middle of the week, much of the country, especially in the Northwest, have been getting many winter related warnings. These warnings are Winter Storm, Winter Weather, Lake Wind, Wind Advisory, Wind Chill Watch/Warnings, and/or Hard Freeze-related. Since the beginning of this week, we have been experiencing the Arctic Cold Outbreak that has been breaking records and causing states to declare State of Emergency.

Around the Midwest, in Michigan, they have a Special Weather Statement and Wind Chill Advisory sent out. And for Northeast Ohio, they have a Wind Chill Advisory. Indiana has no warnings/advisories. Illinois has a Flood Watch/Warning around Carbon Hill and Naplate.

As the sun begins to shine more here in Muncie, temperatures have slightly increased into the double digits finally! By 12 PM, it will be 15°F. While it is still windy outside, there is no Wind Chill Advisory as previously mentioned compared to what we have seen through the past week. But, we still advise keeping putting on your scarfs to cover your face while outside.

Stay warm! Chirp Chirp!
