Sunny, but Still Cold

Don’t let the sun shining fool you, the majority of the country is still experiencing freezing temperatures, with some areas in Indiana as low as -2 degrees. While these temperatures are cold, the wind makes it feel even colder, with speeds of 15 mph and gusts up to 22 mph! Due to this, most of the state is under a wind chill advisory that expires at noon and will be re-issued at 9 pm tonight until tomorrow at 9 am.

The high-temperature today will reach about 10 degrees, and A low temperature of 2 degrees will be seen later tonight. These temperatures are about 10-20 degrees colder than the normal temperatures experienced in the area. Some areas will still experience negative wind chills as low as -15 degrees, even after the advisory expires. When walking to class or remaining outdoors for an extended period, be sure to bundle up and cover as much skin as possible. It can only take 30 minutes for frostbite to occur on exposed skin under these frigid conditions.
