Evening/Overnight Forecast, 1/16/2024: Breezy & Freezy Arctic Air Continues

Jack Nicholson from The Shining shivers in the snow while text flashes on the screen saying, "So cold."

Good Afternoon Cardinal Country! It’s been a beautifully sunny afternoon, but my, has it been cold! We are on the breezy side, and that wind will stick with us overnight into tomorrow morning. With that and the clearing skies in mind (which allow for things to cool off), we factor in that wind for the reason why the National Weather Service has issued another *Wind Chill Advisory* for Muncie & Delaware County from 9PM to 9AM tonight and tomorrow morning. The feels-like temperature here in Cardinal Country is expected in the wind to drop off to between -15 & -20, lending to frostbite setting in between 15 & 30 minutes on exposed skin. So, the word is dress in layers (wool is my favorite material to recommend as a part of that), and also make sure you leave enough time to clear off and warm up your vehicle for heading off to your destinations both tonight and tomorrow. On the bright side (literally), we do have some high clouds sliding into the area which will build up later on Wednesday out ahead of our next weather maker, but they should be spaced south and arranged in the sky for a nice sunset around 5:40 PM. Enjoy, but stay warm!
