5-day Forecast 2/17-2/21/2023: Get the Hot Chocolate, Winter’s Back (But for How Long?)

Good Morning Cardinals & all the awesome human beans from the Munciana region and beyond! Happy Friday as well, although if you’re a spring weather fan, you may not be feeling so much that way 🙁 In the wake of low pressure that blew through yesterday (literally, my weather station’s anemometer recorded a 42 mph wind gust in the 9PM hour last night), we have those continuing breezes to make these 30s feel like the teens and 20s. There have even been some snow flurries and showers this morning thanks to the fetch of wind off of Lake Michigan and some upper-level energy, which should lessen as we make our way to the afternoon hours. The clouds are already showing some breaks, and they’ll continue to do so, however, they won’t necessarily go away. We do have a clearer weekend ahead as well as a warmer one as a ridge of high pressure works its way in from the SW. Add warm W-SW winds to the mix (that could be breezy at times) and under pleasant skies, we should see some upper 40s to lower 50s. We then are watching the upper-level jet stream (the river of air that separates colder airmasses from the warmer & is the path storms form and are directed along) dip south as we make our way into next week, re-introducing clouds to the weather mix & providing a small (20-30%) chance of some rain showers on Tuesday with better chances Weds-Weds Night. Fly safe and warm, Cardinals, and enjoy your weekend!
