5-day Forecast Update, Monday 1/30/2023: Wintry & Cold, But We Could Prove The Sun’s Existence the Second Half of This Week

Some frigid mornings ahead, Cardinals, but we could actually see the sun this week? Yes, Jim Carrey, we ARE saying there’s a chance…

Good Morning from the Cardinal Weather Service Weather Nest! It has no doubt been slippery here in east central Indiana as freezing drizzle earlier this morning has given way to some on-and-off snow showers producing a fresh coating of snowfall. That looks to clear around 1 pm, but the skies won’t – for now, anyway! As high pressure (albeit cold with highs in the 20s) begins to build, the rumors and/or legends that speak of the existence of a glowing orb in the sky they call the Sun may be proven true! As the atmosphere stabilizes and dries out while that high builds, the chance for clouds to have staying power greatly diminishes & they disappear, giving way to much more enjoyable clear conditions. It will be chilly though through the end of the week since this high comes from far up in northern Canada bringing a semi-polar airmass with it, so while you enjoy that sun, don’t forget to bundle up! Stay warm and fly safe (& happy), Cardinals!
