January Thunderstorms

We start our evening off with a chance of thunderstorms around 4PM. These storms should quickly move through our area but the winds are going to be here to stay for the remainder of the evening and overnight as well. We will see sustained winds of 20-25 mph with gusts of up to 40 mph throughout of evening. As these winds come in from the SW we will see a rapid drop in temperature to end off our Thursday. As the temperature drops the rain could turn into snow flurries as we get into the early hours of Friday.

Muncie is currently under a slight risk given out by the Storm Prediction Center. What this means is here in the eastern part of Indiana there is a chance that an isolated severe storms are possible but they will most likely be short lived. To our east in Ohio is where an enhanced risk is located this area has parameters that look more favorable for persistent and widespread severe storms to be possible.
