Windy, Cold, Snow on the Ground (Thursday, February 27th forecast)

Good Morning everyone out there! We’ve waken up this morning to a good 3 inches of snow on the grassy areas this morning from yesterday’s winter weather event. For today it appears that the bulk of the snow is gone with the advancement of a strong cold front yesterday evening. A sharp pressure gradient means that today we will see quite breezy conditions today with sustained winds of 10 to 20 mph throughout much of the day today with gusts up to 30 mph. These higher winds could cause some of the loose recently fallen snow to blow onto the roadways and sidewalks and could create some additional slick spots on top of those that are already slick from the snow and ice from yesterday. Just making it just even more important to slow down and take your time while venturing outside today.

With the passage of the cold front, temperatures are not going to warm up much at all today. Right now in Muncie it is currently cloudy to mostly cloudy and 26 °F with a west wind at 10 mph. The high for toady is only supposed to warm up to 28 °F from our current conditions as of 8:30 am of 26 °F. The low for tonight is expected to be 19 °F. We’ll leave a small chance of precipitation in the forecast as we can’t rule out a possibility of an isolated snow flurry or two throughout the day into tonight.
