This Memorial Day will be warm and cloudy, as a warm front pushes warm air into the area. Temperatures will quickly climb from the mid-70s to at 1 pm to the upper-70s by three pm, likely reaching our high of 80 after 3 pm. Winds will mostly be light this afternoon, coming from the south at 5-10 mph. Skies will remain partly clear throughout the afternoon as well. In short, this afternoon will be the perfect time to get your plans done.
Later in the evening, there is the possibility for isolated showers and thunderstorms during that time, as the low-pressure system out west helps fire up some storms. They’ll likely make their way to Central Indiana after 5 pm, which is why we’re under an enhanced risk for severe weather. Make sure to stay safe as you travel home tonight. We’ll keep you updated on the details.
