Needless to say, it’s not going to be a beautiful day to be outside like yesterday. While yesterday was a great day to break out the hammock, today looks to be a great day to stay indoors. As a powerful low pressure system, the same one that brought blizzard conditions throughout the western Great Plains, tracks northeast, we will see gusty conditions today. Sustained winds will approach 30 miles per hour with some gusts getting up to 47-50 mph. There is a chance for thunderstorms that could be severe into the afternoon hours. The primary threat looks to be damaging winds but you should remain weather alert today for other possible threats nonetheless. The rain and chance of thunderstorms will likely end in the early evening hours. Temperatures will be warm today but once this system passes through, they will return back to normal, marking the end of the spring-like temperatures. With the wind, umbrellas may not work the best today so keep that rain jacket close because you will absolutely need it.
