Today is a lovely day, despite still being a little chilly, the sun is out with few clouds in the way. This evening is panning out to be much of the same. As we reach our high for today, expect the temperature to drop after 5 pm to the upper 30’s overnight. Wind speeds will increase from around 5 mph to around 10 mph as the night goes on. The other difference being some increased cloud cover leading into a possibility for showers, though these will only happen after midnight and tomorrow when they move into the area. The exciting thing is that it will start warming up towards the morning. This is as we see an arching of the jet stream to the north. The spring and fall are usually defined as the fighting of warmer and cooler temperatures over an area and this can definitely be attributed to the behavior of the jet stream. The movement north will allow warmer temperatures, most often confined to the south, to move north into the area under this arch, called a ridge.
