This week, we are expected to see some of the coldest temperatures we’ve seen in a long time. After this system, which is bringing over a foot of snow to areas in Michigan, passes through the area giving us a wintry mix, temperatures will plummet. On Wednesday, the high for the day will most likely not make it above the 0° mark. This has happened a very limited number of times in recorded history. Wind chills have the potential to get down to -30° and beyond on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Layers and covering any exposed skin is absolutely vital to prevent frostbite. The rest of the week looks to see a warm up with a slight chance of snow on Friday. We are entering uncharted territory with the cold we are expecting, so exercise caution in the middle of the week and stay indoors if you can.
