Here is a quick analysis for your out-the-door Monday morning forecast.
The current temperatures are in the low 50’s and are expected to fall into the 40’s as the day progresses. Winds will pick up out of the northwest between 10-15 mph and gusts up to 20 mph. Rain will move out by mid-morning with overcast for the rest of the afternoon.
An upper-level trough is passing through the Great Lakes resulting in a plume of moisture to pool up ahead of the surface frontal features. An early season snow was the result for many states in the plains and midwest with some accumulations up to 2″. Colder than normal temperatures will continue throughout the work week as several shortwaves reinforce the cool air.
