A Never Ending Summer….Ends!

Current conditions in Muncie show another unseasonably warm morning. It is currently 73 with a dew point of 64. The expected high temperature will be 77 with rain likely this afternoon. Rain will begin around Noon and will pick up again this evening as the frontal passage moves through the region. Winds will change from the SW to the W to the NW overnight. The average high is only 64 for October 10th.

Now for “Brent’s tropical corner”

Major Hurricane Michael is expected to landfall near Panama City this afternoon as a category 4 hurricane. Michael’s latest winds have it at 145 mph sustained. The system went through rapid intensification and closed off it’s eye yesterday that allowed it to continue to deepen. Current pressure estimate in the eye are 933 mb. This is a life-altering system for the areas impacted in the Florida Panhandle.
