Current conditions across Central Indiana have temperatures in the lower 80’s with mostly sunny skies. It’s definitely humid out there, with dew points in the upper 60’s. Temperatures this afternoon will only increase, with a high of 88°F expected. Combined with the humidity, the heat will feel oppressive!
Due to this combination of the heat, humidity, and calm winds, an Air Quality Alert is in effect for portions of the area including Muncie throughout the day today. Be sure to take it easy and stay inside if you have respiratory issues.
The heat will continue through the rest of the work week, with temperatures in the upper 80’s to low 90’s likely. Relief will come to the area Friday night when a cold front moves into the area, taking temperatures much closer to average in the mid 70’s. This will also bring rain back into the picture, with rain possible on Friday night into Saturday.
