High Pressure in Charge

High pressure is in charge for much of the region allowing for temperatures to begin to warm back up. Ridging aloft will continue building for the next several days and temperatures around Muncie and Central Indiana will return to the low to mid 80s. Expect Partly cloudy to Mostly Sunny skies after today through Saturday. Rain chances begin to pop up Saturday night into Sunday but are low confidence due to the track of Hurricane Florence.

The same high pressure and ridging over us and the East Coast is going to allow for Hurricane Florence to come to a halt off of the shores of the Carolinas where a significant flooding event will take place due to the slow movement of the storm. Florence is expected to near landfall this afternoon as a large category 2 hurricane with a life threatening storm surge along the coast.
