As the remnants of tropical storm Gordon move north along a stationary boundary over Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio there is potential for flooding rain. The interaction between the rich tropical air mass with the stationary front provides enough lift to produce a prolonged rain event. As the remnants move through the Ohio River Valley exact rainfall totals are not certain yet. A general 3-6 inches of rain through the Muncie region is likely but a potential for shifts and changes to the forecast still exist as this set up can be tricky due to the timing of the features in play.
Today expect on/off showers throughout the day with highs in the 70s. Best potential for rain is in the afternoon after 2pm.
