Rain and Possible Thunderstorms

Good evening! Skies for now remain clear, but we do expect rain to move in soon. Within the next hour or so, rain will begin to move into Muncie. Later in the evening, rain will start to become heavier. Prepare yourself for the drive home or bring an umbrella with you if you are walking on campus. Along with rain chances, there are also chances for thunderstorms as well. While no severe weather is expected, it cannot be ruled out. The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Muncie. In this statement, they include the possibly of heavy rain and thunderstorms.

For the remainder of the day, temperatures will linger in the lower 40s. We do not expect temperatures to warm up much, just a couple degrees. Winds are calm for now, but expect it to get breezy outside as this low pressure system moves in tonight with the rain.

Rainfall totals from this system could range from a quarter of an inch to half of an inch. Rain will continue into the overnight hours and will taper off in the early morning hours of tomorrow. Be cautious if you are outside this evening!
