Good Friday morning to everyone out there! It is currently 48°F under sunny skies as of 8 am at the Muncie Airport. The winds will be the calmest its going to be for the entirety of today out of the southwest at 8 mph. This is currently producing a wind chill of 44°F. For the second straight day a wind advisory is in effect from noon to 8pm for Delaware County today for the potential for sustained winds in excess of 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph at times today.
This will have the potential to knock over unsecured objects and bring down some large limbs. With Easter Sunday just around the corner, make sure that all decorations are in a secured location away from the wind. It is strongly encouraged that all Good Friday services if they are not already to be hosted inside tonight, the winds will be too strong to risk setting up any pop-up tents or other outdoor fixtures this evening. A strong pressure gradient will be in place with a high pressure system located over the Carolinas and two low pressure systems located over the Colorado Rockies and southern Ontario as of this this morning. This will create very strong winds as the change in pressure will be significant for the daytime hours today.
Clouds will slightly increase as the day goes on today and rain is not expected until the night time hours tonight. If you don’t mind a little bit of wind, today is going to be an awesome day! We will see highs in the mid to upper 60’s with temperatures in the late morning hours to be in the 50’s with a lighter wind and a sunny sky.
