Good morning! Temperatures are rising this morning and we will see that trend continue as we move throughout the day. Temperatures will also be aided by a southerly wind, which will keep them warm as well. Wind gusts today could get up to 45 mph, so be sure to secure your hats or any other items. As for now, skies are mostly clear with some light cloud cover remaining in the area. The day today for the most part will be dry with some possible scattered showers. Our main threat will be tonight, looking past 6PM.
A warm front is moving through Indiana today, giving us these warmer temperatures. This low pressure system is also the cause of our severe weather for southern states and for other northern states. Southern states are at a higher risk for tornadoes, hail, and damaging winds. Our main risk will be for later tonight as this line of storms moves in. Be sure to drive carefully as we could experience damaging winds and hail. Other possibilities include: heavy rainfall at times and thunderstorms. Enjoy the dry time and warmth today and stay weather aware tonight!
