We are already sitting at 47° and we will warm up just a bit throughout the day to the mid 50s. Windy conditions are in store for us today. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory, wind gusts can reach 40+ mph today. Be sure to secure any hats or any things outside that can be blown away. While we will remain dry for most of the day today, The National Weather Service has also issued a Flood Watch that starts at 7PM tonight and ends at 7PM tomorrow. This has been issued because of the great amount of rainfall we will get beginning late tonight and lasting through tomorrow evening. Enjoy the dry and warmer conditions today as we prepare for a rainy and a little bit cooler Thursday.
The Wind Advisory will remain in effect until Thursday at 7PM. The flood watch has been issued because we currently still have snow on the ground as well as frozen ground. This will keep the rain from soaking into the ground like usual. Therefore, rainwater will pile up on surfaces and could lead to flooding. Bodies of water (rivers, streams) are also still frozen. This will let the water accumulate and could lead to flooding on roadways near rivers or streams. Be cautious when driving tonight and tomorrow, do not drive in an area where there is flooding. Some areas of water could be deeper than what they look to be.
