A Quiet Week Ahead

This week weather activity will be minimal compared to what we saw last week. Last week, we saw a winter storm that gave us snow, rain, and freezing rain! We will be in for some warmer temperatures this week as well as some clear skies. For today though, we will see a high of 24 degrees with sunny skies. Temperatures will be dropping once we reach the early evening hours. Lows tonight will drop into the single digits and that is without the wind chill. So, bundle up if you plan on heading out the door tonight! We will be staying dry for the day today and the next couple of days.

This time last week, the majority of the country was preparing for a winter storm. Now, we can look at the watches and warnings map on the National Weather Service site and see almost nothing. Most areas are quiet right now and that is well deserved. Many areas saw great amounts of snowfall and that snow is still sticking around. Temperatures have not been warm enough to melt the snow yet. With temperatures reaching the upper 30s this week, we may see some of this snow melt.

Right now, we can see that a cold front just passed through Muncie. Temperatures for the most part remain bearable, but tonight we will see lows in the single digits. Off to the west, high pressure is dominating with clear skies and still colder temperatures. Right now, temperatures for them are in the 20s and 30s. Even southern areas in Georgia and Florida are sitting in the 40s. We can say that across the board we are cold throughout the entire US right now!
