Good afternoon everyone! Only if today’s weather could stay around for a little while longer. A spring tease is what we are getting today with temperatures currently at 50°F under a mostly sunny sky. Quite windy out there with a south wind at 14 mph gusting to 26 mph. The winds will remain strong as a robust frontal system is expected to work it’s way into the area tomorrow.
No you are not in a strange dream, we predict a high of 54°F this afternoon with much of the afternoon in the 50’s. Clouds will increase as the day will go on leading to a mostly cloudy to overcast sky by nightfall. There maybe some rain around midnight tonight, however there is still some uncertainty on how fast the incoming system will go.
Now on to the elephant in the room…This morning around 10am, the National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Winter Strom Warning for Delaware and counties to the west and north. Confidence is slightly increasing that the majority of the precipitation to fall Wednesday night into Thursday will be snow rather than a wintery mix. There will still be some freezing rain during the transition from rain to snow in the afternoon Wednesday. Travel for the day Wednesday should be mostly unaffected, travel will begin to get difficult starting Wednesday night. Amounts are not known as of now but there is confidence that at least 6 inches of snow will fall during the duration of the event. Have a good day! Stay weather aware!
