If you are heading out the door this morning, make sure to wear several layers. We are only sitting at -1 degrees right now, but it feels like -12 degrees. Temperatures today will not warm up much, but we will get to 14 degrees for our high later on. Skies look to be clear and sunny today with no precipitation chances. Tonight temperatures will not drop too far, we will see values in the low teens.
High pressure is currently sitting over parts of the Midwest. This includes Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and states to the West like Missouri. This will bring us clear conditions for the day today. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for much of the Midwest region for places like Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Minnesota. Wind chill values in these areas were very low this morning and will continue to be below zero until we reach the early afternoon hours. Temperatures for the Midwest remain bitterly cold and some areas in southern Wisconsin are reaching -17 degrees without wind chill. Expect temperatures to remain cold throughout today.
High pressure will move east as we move through today and clouds will move into the area tonight. So, today enjoy those clear skies because we will see some cloud cover in the upcoming days.
