The commute for this morning was snowy, but for now the snow has moved off to our east. We will have a good break from the snow as we move into the afternoon, but chances for snow return this evening. As temperatures warm up just a bit today, there may be a chance for mixed precipitation. This may lead to slick spots on roadways and bridges. Be weather aware as you make your trip home today. Moving into tonight, temperatures will fall into the teens. Bundle up because the wind chill values will dip into the single digits.
Indiana is not the only state that is experiencing winter weather right now. Across the country, the National Weather Service has issued winter weather advisories in states like Colorado and Wisconsin. Wisconsin is actually under the same system that we are seeing here right now in Muncie. This system is currently covering a good portion of the Midwest. This includes Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan.
In central Texas, they are seeing rain instead of snow. Yet on the western side of Texas, they are under a special weather statement for possible snow chances tomorrow afternoon. In the plains, they are experiencing pleasant conditions under high pressure. For now, the Midwest is experiencing a low pressure system that is bringing us this snow.
