Scattered shower and storm chances return today with some slightly cooler temperatures

After summer-like temperatures and sunshine dominated the area for the last few days, we expect changes to finally arrive today! Right now, it is 67 degrees under overcast skies with winds coming out of the south at 7 mph. Later on today, we will be watching a system that is expected to bring showers and a few thunderstorms to the area. As we head throughout the morning, shower and storm chances will start to gradually rise. By the time we get to the afternoon, showers and thunderstorms are expected to become likely. We also do have a chance that the area could see some strong storms as well. The Storm Prediction Center has put the eastern half of Indiana including our area under a Marginal Risk for severe weather. The main threats with today’s storms are primarily damaging winds. Temperatures today will top out in the low 70s, which isn’t as warm as yesterday but still will be nice weather outside of the showers and storms that we may get today. If you are going to be heading out today, make sure to take the umbrella with you and have it with you at all times! Have a great day and stay safe out there!
