After a balmy and warm last several days with temperatures feeling more like mid-April, changes are expected to finally arrive today! Right now, it is 41 degrees with winds coming out of the southeast at 3 mph with cloudy skies. As we head throughout the later part of the morning, temperatures are expected to warm up quickly. Along with that temperature increase today, we also expect rain chances to climb throughout the later morning and into the afternoon. Currently, there is a strong system off to our southwest that is expected to bring us rain and the potential for a few strong storms as well, especially as we head into this evening and tonight where the stormy weather will be at its peak. We also have a marginal risk in place for the potential to see a small chance of a spin-up tornado and gusts winds within the thunderstorms. Not only that, we also have a High Wind Warning in place too from 11pm tonight until 9am Friday morning. This means that we could see winds of 25-40 mph likely with winds gusts up to as much as 60 mph at times during the night. This added on to the storms that we have in the forecast for tonight could spell trouble! Make sure to stay weather alert today and if you see thunder, go indoors! Prioritize your safety and stay safe if the weather gets volatile! If you are heading out later today make sure to take the umbrella with you! Have a great day and stay safe out there!
