Wow, talk about weather whiplash! Yesterday temperatures rose all the way up to 60 degrees which, at times, was accompanied by sunshine. That will not be the case today. A low pressure system passing just south of the area will bring with it accumulating snow. However, temperatures are currently in the 40s and will not drop to the freezing mark until the afternoon which means that a rain/snow mix should ensue for the first few hours of this snowfall event before changing over to all snow in the afternoon. After that, brutally cold arctic air will follow. As you head out this morning, even with temperatures above freezing at the moment, be careful when driving as some slick spots may still develop.
