Summer-like Mornings to Continue

Good Morning Cardinals,

The upper level pattern will continue to amplify ridging over the Eastern US allowing for much warmer than average temperatures to continue into the foreseeable future. The anomalous ridging also will keep Central Indiana in a “summer-like” pattern with occasional thunderstorm chances late in the afternoon. These will not be severe, but regular pop-up type showers. As fall season low pressures attempt to bring in cooler and drier air for Thursday and Friday it will be back into the mid-80’s by Saturday.

If you have any yard work to finish before winter arrives now is the time to do it. As we progress deeper into October our average temperatures become lower and lower lessening this pattern’s heat wave effect. Today will have a minimal late afternoon and into the evening rain chance as mentioned with highs in the upper 80’s. Should be mostly sunny with some periods of patchy clouds throughout the day. Winds will pick up as our low pressure system attempts to pass through the area with some gusts through central Indiana in the 20-30 mph range.
