UPDATE- Severe weather chances

The SPC has recently upgraded the severe weather threat to a moderate risk, which is one level above the enhanced risk that was already issued. Delaware county is currently still under the enhanced risk. The moderate was issued for counties just to the south of us and some of those counties include Wayne, Henry, and parts of Madison. The enhanced risk was upgraded do the enhancing threat for damaging winds in those areas.

With significant clearing in southern Indiana, those areas will be under the greatest threat for severe storms this afternoon as the atmosphere become unstable. Muncie will soon see clearing skies after the showers and storms move out of our area within the next hour, which will give us chances for severe storms later on this afternoon and evening.

Below is information from the SPC regarding the threat of hail, wind and tornadoes.

JUST IN… Tornado WATCH issued for our area. Includes all of east central Indiana, Southern Indiana, part of northern Kentucky, and central and south-western Ohio. Tornado Watch graphic by the SPC and NWS.

Stay weather aware this afternoon and evening!
